About Us
The Albion is a Georgian gem at the heart of Barnsbury, long cherished as one of Islington’s most characterful pubs. Originally surrounded by fields and farmland, it was once a favourite stop for Londoners taking an afternoon stroll beyond the city. Though the landscape has changed, The Albion continues to offer the same sense of escape with its wisteria-covered façade, log fires, and timeless charm.
Located just off Upper Street in the Barnsbury conservation area, our pub combines a central setting with a peaceful, village-like atmosphere. Inside, a careful Georgian restoration highlights original wood-panelled walls and an inviting mix of furniture that reflects our heritage and warmth. The French windows in the restaurant area open onto over 450 square meters of wisteria-filled English country garden. Celebrated as one of Islington’s finest beer gardens, it provides an idyllic space for long lunches, relaxed drinks, and gatherings with friends and family throughout the year.
As part of the Noble Inns Group, The Albion remains committed to offering exceptional hospitality, quality food and drink and a welcoming atmosphere for our guests to enjoy. We’re proud to be an enduring Islington institution rooted in history, yet very much a home for today.
